"A small village near the harbor — pure Icelandic magic. From here I experienced unforgettable moments: a whale-watching tour and the wonder of the Northern Lights dancing in the sky. I stayed in a shared house with people from all over the world, in a warm and genuine atmosphere. A special place where nature and simplicity create emotions that stay in your heart. 💙"

"I'm repeating myself from my first visit to Gimli 4 years ago but the hostel is one of the best hostels I have visited. It is quiet, the location is great and it is just ever so peaceful."
"Some guests clearly have never used a door properly in their lives. Instead of bashing the doors shut, guests could pay more attention when closing doors."
"Simple room but everything you need, clean shared bathroom and spacious kitchen/,living room where you can cook your own meal. Original house decorations. Very convenient location for people taking the ferry to Grimsey, just across the street. There's no real center in Dalvik, but it's located along the main road nearby the little harbor. Road to Dalvik along a beautiful fjord (but the town itself is more a collection of houses along the road). Bus stop at a couple of 100 meters. Warm welcome by the owner."
"No negative feedback, but you have to be aware that there is no staff available in the house. The owner comes as soon as you call him and replied very quickly to all messages and questions through Booking. Dalvik is rather isolated, if you don't have a car. I couldn't find food after 5 pm (too bad I was just too late for the super cosy looking cafe of the hostel owner at 100 m from the hostel). No shops or restaurants open when I was there in July on Sunday and Monday night.. Luckily a pizza takeaway opened from a local house kitchen at 6 pm."

"Possibly the nicest hostel I have ever stayed in. Advertised as a hostel but had the feel of a traditional guest house. Bjarni is a very welcoming and approachable host. Directly across the road from the Grimsey ferry."

"Bjarni was wery helpful with self check-in. Our room was clean and comfortable and we appreciated the big kitchen with all facilities we needed. Would stay again if I’m back!"

"Firstly Bjarni was a fantastic host. Very helpful and enthusiastic. He very kindly gave me a slightly bigger room. I stayed 2 separate nights and was able to leave a bag whilst I was Grimsey. The hostel was spotless. Kitchen also really well equipped. I am already planning my return trip for some whale watching."

"The guesthouse is self-checkin, very easy and nice. There are nice pannels indicating everything, nice pictures of Iceland as well, and a fridge to buy drinks if needed; my kids loved the local swimming pool at the end of the street, we visited everyday. We also walked around and played in a playground belonging to school but school was close because it was weekend. Road is quite main one so they remove the snow quickly"

"For me, location, cleanliness and comfort are important when it comes to accommodation. All of these were fine in the case of Capital Luxury Apartments. The apartment is located on one of the main streets and is tastefully furnished and equipped. Very clean! The beds and other furniture are comfortable. There is also a shop, pharmacy and luggage storage near the accommodation at the nearby tourist information office. I especially liked the ease of access to the apartment it turned out to be very easy. Before our arrival, the owner sent a video on how to use the code for the front door. I found this very useful!"
