"The beautiful view from the balcony. A lovely welcome with tea and biscuits. An easy walk along the rail tracks to Ella centre and all the bars and restaurants."

"The view is stunning and you are really in the middle of nature. So many birds to watch from the balcony and you hear nature all day. The host family are the sweetest and they really try and help accomodate."

"I liked all of it. The place is secluded but I think thats much better than being on the main strip. I often walked to town or asked the host to book me a tuk tuk for a fair price"

"The location, view, the owners, everything was great!! They do everything to make you happy. Even laundry! 10 minute walk over the trainrail to Ella centre. Two lovely appartements with terras, beautiful view on the valey and waterfall. Good breakfast."

"This was by far the best accommodation during my travels in Sri Lanka. It's easily the world's most beautiful balcony, with incredible views of the valley, Ella Rock and waterfalls. It's lush and green, quiet and you will be visited by hummingbirds, peacocks, squirrels and fireflies. The owners are incredibly friendly, warm and welcoming. I extended my stay 2 times."

"We enjoyed our stay at Saddle Cottage, the view is incredible and we got fresh, traditional breakfast every morning. Even on our last day, when we had to leave at 4am they prepared some breakfast to go, the family is just too kind. The owner also offers a driving service with his own Tuk Tuk, which we used and were more than happy about it. The family really makes you feel welcomed and we were happy to be their guests!"

"The bathroom tended to overflow when showering probably due to plumbing issues. Also, a bit pricy overall considering there was no a/c."

"Lovely family run accommodation in a rural garden setting off the main street. Modern building with rooms overlooking a well kept garden with mango, coconut and other tropical trees. The room was nice, clean with mosquito net set up over the bed - the bed was big and comfortable. Air con and fan both worked really well. WiFi was OK. Bathroom and shower were nice - there was a hot shower which was a bit temperamental - probably due to the low water pressure. Nice seating area outside where we were served a fabulous breakfast of rice, lovely dhal, pancakes, toast, fruit. There was so much and the dhal was topped up, by our host, because we ate it all! The owners were very friendly and helpful - Sharman organised an afternoon safari for us in Udawalawe, and organised a driver to take us to Ella. He recommended a restaurant and was really friendly, informative and helpful."

They arranged a tuktuk for us to Moray Falls, which was really good! Additionally, the garden house is only a 15 minute walk to the Adam's Peak trail starting point."
