"The host was lovely and tried to be as friendly as possible within the limits of our small amount of French. The flat was perfectly located for the medina and only a relatively short walk from the beach."

"The address on the booking was confusing and took us a while to work out as the street name was different. The flat is on the 3rd floor up some very tight spiral staircases, which wasn't a problem for us but should be outlined in the property description as they won't be easy for some."

"It was very spacious, clean and exceptionally located. The family extremely friendly and welcoming. They were attentive and we enjoyed a hotel like service. The terrace is definitely the highlight for breakfast or just to enjoy the sunset."

The family even borrowed us there tagine so we could make our own diner in the cosy kitchen of the spacious appartement. Price-quality, best in town! Good bed, nice linnen, cosy kitchen! "A clean and tidy apartment has everything, including a kitchen. You have to take into account that this is an ancient city, not a very luxurious hotel. I enjoy the experience very much."

"Firstly our hosts are the nicest people we have probably ever met, I felt like I was visiting a family member. We felt at home instantly and the sense of peace and acceptance was something I will take away from my trip to Morocco and think about fondly. The room was very pleasant and felt like a ship sitting on top of Essaouria's souks, ideally placed to explore the Medina and plan some shopping. We arrived looking tired and let our family rest in the room a while, they brought us a complimentary couscous plate which was well received, we also ordered their cheap Moroccan breakfast from them which for me was the highlight in food on my trip throughout the country, so delicious. The facilities were good, including the shower and kitchen, and a little potty was a nice surprise for our eldest who had missed being comfortable during potty times. The terrace has such a beautiful sunrise and sunset looking over the water. Great experience for us."

"+ Apartments located at the top of the building, just above the hosts' apartments. + Very quiet place, not a crowded street, but safe and well-lit. + Well-lit rooms, really comfy to sit, lay and relax + Kitchen equipped with an electric kettle, gas stove and oven, refrigerator, and kitchen utensils. + Private shower and toilet right outside the door, good hot water, toilet and shower. + Comfortable sofa, bed with mattress, large table, and hairdryer. + Friendly hosts provide a classic Moroccan breakfast in the mornings (40 dirhams). + You can hear the beautiful sound of the waves from the room's window."

"- You can go out to the roof and look around, but the area with the coffee table is very hard to access. - No lighter for the gas stove in the kitchen (we brought our own), no kitchen towel, no dish soap. - For a couple of nights, there was a strong sewage smell from the inner windows (we closed them, and it got better). - The wardrobe has three sections, but the left one is locked, and the right one is hard to access due to a bedside table. - The toilet lacks an interior handle to close the door. - No mirrors in the room, only in the bathroom. - There are small ants in the kitchen at times. - There is a small desk lamp but it is not working."

"We loved the authenticity of staying in a local family's home. We also much appreciated that there was a fully equipped kitchen that we used to cook up some king prawns that we procured from the local market. The roof terrace was also a huge plus with a view of the waves crashing on the rocks and undoubtedly a beautiful spot to see the sunset, although we were elsewhere during our short stay. Oh, and they also had a fully connected television with Netflix application and a great WiFi!"
